An irreverent thread to discuss, browse through, and delight over the world of royalty. First up, a pair of shoes. Not just any pair of shoes, but ones designed by King Albert II of the Belgians himself! They were part of the collection of the Royal Family's shoes, in the Izegem exhibition of 2001. Don't quit your day job, Your Majesty... |

Are they in boutiques to be sold... or is a pair unique...? I can see a label in the box... |

What an awful pair of slippers. You should buy the ones provided by the Dinastías Boutique, where chic meets royalty. This is the pair our poster Halcón had specially made for his royal soirées. And nothing better than some tea with milk after having danced all night. Using the right pitcher of course. picture originally posted by Baxter |

I tried to research this very question, Sabby-baby, but I wasn't able to find further info. It would seem this foray into being a royal cobbler was an one-off for King Albert. Frankly, I'm really not impressed with the quality of the shoes, as I suggested in my post. That crown patch thingie looks completely cheap -- like the patches I used to buy when I travelled around the continent, later sewing on the "Köln", "Amsterdam", "Madrid" patches on my backpack, to advertise all the cities I had visited... I mean, Manolo Blahnik, he ain't. |

Classy, very classy, Octavius. Kudos to Halcon. I had no idea we had a forum store, either! I am hoping it offers a wide-range of Dinastias tea cozies. Like this one I bought at Windsor Castle (not my photo) of Queen Mary's Dollhouse, a snip at £20. And of course, no royalist on this or any other forum can be without an Imperial State Crown tea cozy, perfect for keeping one's rosy lee nice and warm. Darjeeling for me, please. EDIT: More on Queen Mary's Dollhouse, specially designed for her by Sir Edwin Lutyens (a project overseen by Princess Marie-Louise of Nothing): |

Here is another very popular line in the Dinastias sleepwear department. |

Those slippers are vaguely erotic, Nellie. Me likes. |

The Dinasties Boutique also stocks rubberwear - just the thing for washing up in the kitchen. |

Omigosh. The Virgin Queen looks like a decidedly unvirginal Marlene Dietrich, and I'm not sure what they did with the Empress Sisi's hair. She looks bi-racial... Never mind, fellow forum members! Please have a Kugeln. And don't forget that August is "Kini Ludwig II" month in Dinastias. Only one per member. |
